ADMISSION PROCEDURE

Candidate’s can get admitted through Government or management quota as per the rules framed by the Tamilnadu state government. The students seeking admission through government has to apply directly to DME after +2 results are announced. The seats will be allotted based on single window system counseling. All the admissions are merit basis.

Admission Details

Admission for B.Pharm, Program will take place as per the directions given by The Tamil Nadu DR MGR Medical University and DME, Chennai.

  • B. Pharm admission starts after + 2 results in the month of May

Admission to B. Pharm Programme

  • Should have completed the age of 17 years on or before 31st December of admitting year.
  • Candidate belonging to all categories except SC/ST community should have obtained 40% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Botany & Zoology or Mathematics taken together at the qualifying examination. (Academic stream). For SC/ST candidates the aggregate is 35% .
  • The candidates who have passed any qualifying examination other than the Higher Secondary Course Examination conducted by the Government of Tamil Nadu shall submit the eligibility certificate from the Tamil Nadu Dr MGR Medical University and such admissions are provisional till the University approves.
  • D.Pharm qualified candidates with 50% marks can directly admitted in second year B.Pharm. The candidate should produce Diploma certificate, State Pharmacy council Certicifate and the eligibility certificate from the Tamil Nadu Dr MGR Medical University and such admissions are provisional till the University approves.

Method of Selection & Admission
As per the rules and regulations framed by the Government of Tamil Nadu.

Duration of an Academic Year
One year (12 months). Each academic year consist of not less than 220 working days (Non Semester system).

Curriculum and Syllabus
The college is affiliated to The Tamil Nadu DR MGR Medical University and is following the Curriculum as per the university regulations. The syllabus is framed with the objective of providing basic, but deep insight into the different areas of Pharmaceutical Sciences especially in the following subjects:

  • Biopharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Technology and Industrial Pharmacy
  • Hospital, Community and Clinical Pharmacy
  • Pharmaceutical Biotechnology
  • Medicinal Chemistry and Chemistry of Natural products
  • Pharmaceutical Analysis

  • Pharmacology
  • Biochemistry
  • Pharmacy Management
  • Pharmaceutical Jurisprudence
  • Computer Applications

All the academic program and examinations are conducted as per the rules and regulations of the University. Apart from the regular academic work, the students are expected to undertake a research project work and to submit a project report in the final B Pharm Course. Practical training in hospital pharmacy/industrial pharmacy is included after completion of Third year B. Pharmacy.
